Shopian fake encounter: Monga welcomes army probe findings, demands strict punishment against those involved in incident

While welcoming the outcome of the army inquiry conducted in Shopian fake encounter in which three innocent civilians from Rajouri were killed and later dubbed as militants, JK Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and MLC G N Monga today demanded strict action and punishment against all those involved in this heinous crime.


In a statement issued to press from here he said fake encounters and custodial killings are heinous criminal acts that have nothing to do with the larger operational purpose of govt forces anywhere.

“People’s faith will be restored only when the culprits are brought to book in a transparent manner and punished according to the law,” Monga demanded.


The Congress leader said the DNA sampling report should be confirmed at the earliest and the bodies of the deceased must be handed over to their families for performing last rites.
