The farmers and apple growers on Wednesday said despite passing a month they have not been compensated against their losses due to snow fall on November.
A group of farmers and apple growers on Wednesday said they were assured by the administration that they will be compensated against their losses, they said most of the orchids in valley were damaged due to untimely snow on November.
They said the administration told at that time the farmers and apple growers will be compensated after a week but so far they are eagerly waiting to get the compensation against damaged crops.
Another famer said this year we were expecting good but the hail storm on april 2019 has damaged 50 of crops and same was followed by untimely snow on November which damages orchards.
Large number of Kashmiri people is dependent of the apple orchids and the same has been completely damaged,
They said the orchards are the bankbone of Kashmir economy and most of the people in Kashmir are soley dependent on it, but the orchards have damaged completely.
A framer from Brath Sopore told KNS that his 80 percent of orchards were damaged due to snowfall on November and his family is was only dependent on it.
He said the most of the apple trees were damaged and later he cut down them all as very few apple trees were stand at his orchard, those are newly planted trees which will take much time to grow.
Same is the case with the other farmers who are only dependent and their whole orchards were damaged due untimely snow in the valley, they said they have suffered a huge losses from last couple of years due to hail storms.
They have appealed the administration for compensation. (KNS)
