Any political engagement with GoI must secure land, jobs for locals: Hakeem

People’s Democratic Front (PDF) President, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen today said that recent initiative of Altaf Bukhari led group to reach out to Government of India with their demands regarding development and constitutional guarantee was a good sign for ending the political stalemate in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We should seek constitutional guarantee for protection of Land and Jobs for locals. This should be the core of political engagement with center,” Hakeem told local newsgathering agency, KNS.
He said that rather than criticizing their initiative political leaders should join hands together in seeking development and constitutional guarantees for J&K.
Without naming anyone he said that Jammu and Kashmir has a historical background and it a separate entity before portion of India “he said various committees and commissions were formed time to time which clearly define the relation between the centre and state no one can ignore the historic identity of JK.
“ Tashqand Agreement, Shimla agreement, Agra Submit and Working groups define the relationship of JK with centre. These initiatives clearly reflect the status of JK Indian constitution
He also blamed successor regimes for not taking any concreting initiatives viz -viz securing identity of state.From 1953 various changes happen in the relationship between centre and state i,e supreme court was reduced to High court , Prime Minster (PM) to Chief Minister (CM) President to Governor, but that does not mean we can shut eyes to the historical background of Jammu and Kashmir.
